Tasting - Peter Mertes Platinum Riesling 2014

14 February 2016

Peter Mertes Platinum Riesling 2014

Name: Peter Mertes Platinum
Variety: Riesling
Region: Rheinhessen
Country: Germany
Year: 2015
Price: $18

Shop Review: "Light-bodied slightly sweet white wine; medium pale slightly greenish yellow. Inviting warm peach aroma and flavors. Easy to drink and not complicated, but what's there is very pleasant, and flavors develop in the glass."

My Review: ***Pick of the Week*** This bottle was 1.5 L of the sweetest tasting wine in the history of today! The name really says it all. Who can go wrong with the Riesling that has both Platinum and Magnum in its name. It's like Derek Zoolander and Hansel squared off over a bottle of wine and this Riesling was created. I couldn't get much on the nose with this wine, but the light, sweet flavor had just enough bite to capture your attention. I'm pretty sure this bottle could stop a ninja star without a problem.

Food: I did not taste this with food.
